Did I Missed A Lot?

Having a cozy high tea(???) at KFC this evening with couples of friends had never been so relaxing. Chatting about many things....from love to childhood games. And it's there where i realized how mach i missed during my childhood time. They kept talking about games that i don't know or even heard before. Tebang tebu? Tom tom bak? Jang jang jala? Jengket? I'm quite lost during the conversation and it made me think how dull it was when i was a kid. Being born and raised at quite an urban place make me look like a fool when it comes to this issue. It nice eh when u unfold back the memories of your childhood that full of colours of those games and wild activities such as collecting shells at the river banks, 'menyeluk ikan', climbing trees (and falls of course!!). All that i did back at that moment were playing indoor dull games with my siblings. Acting like we're in office, seek and hide (in the house only!!), wwf(yeah...thats brutal eh?), and counting ads aired in the tv. Anyway..its still a great childhood after all...it just i felt a lil' jealous of my friends which childhood potrayed the real Malays kid back in the village. Wish i went through that exeriences too. Can't deny that the falls and wounds had actually made the moment so great.

Can't help thinking of todays kids. If me (being kid during early 90s) already felt very unfortunate to lose the oportunities like my friends, how kids today felt about it once they grown? Will they say playstations, bay blades, crash gears, tamia, barbie dolls are more fun then tebang tebu, jengket, jang jang jala and pukul berapa datuk harimau?

I wish i could preserve these simple great cute traditional malay kids games for my childs. But first....i should learn about it first. Is it too late?? Better late than never!
